As some of you know, I injured myself November of last year; 1 month of bed rest, 4 months of no driving, 5 1/2 months of no exercise. Well, I am happy to announce that I was able to go on my first 5 minute jog last week on a treadmill during therapy!! I broke a sweat and realized that I am terribly out of shape and my cardio is non existent. I no longer have any endurance!
But I felt great after so I have been cleared to jog for 5-10 minutes every 3 days. But for about 2 weeks now, I have been walking 1.5 miles with my dog every day it hasn't been raining, which is about every other day here. ;) My first week was me fighting with the dogs since my oldest is awful on leash and correcting them so they walk right next to me. My right arm has buffed up 10 fold but my dogs were still choking themselves out to the point of dry heaving through the whole walk. I purchased a easy walk harness and it's been night and day!! She walks right next to me and there's very little pulling and NO choking!! :D
I hope everyone has had a great weekend! Bring on the nice weather!

Good news followed by awful news...
Good news is that I received my laptop after a month of Toshiba holding it hostage, going to the depot repair site every day, sometimes twice a day to see what status my computer was in. On Tuesday, I was overcome with joy when the indicator had moved from 'repair in progress' to 'outbound of shipping'. I received my confirmation email with UPS Tracking number stating that it was shipped 2 day air. Boy was I surprised when I got it Wednesday morning. I was taken off guard when it was just left on my front door step; it didn't even need to be signed for but whatever, it wasn't stolen nor was the box damaged in any way.
I was like a kid at Christmas. I ripped open the box and once I got my precious contents out, installed my battery and plugged it in... I turned it on and AHH!!! It was like the sky parted and the sun was beaming through the clouds, I was elated! A black screen saying: "Preparing Windows for first use" appeared on the screen and DH told me that they probably reinstalled Windows on the computer so we would have to install everything over again.
Then comes the nightmare:
I couldn't log on to the computer because it was password protected and they didn't give me the password! Then it flashed me to a box that said: "log in disabled, please contact your system administrator"... That's ME!! I am the system administrator... Ugh... I rebooted the computer and it worked this time but the black screen of death appeared on the screen again: "Preparing Windows for first time use"
To make a long story short, I was on the phone with Toshiba for 2 hours before I had to go to work and they wanted to remote access my computer through my internet... Uhhh, ABSOLUTELY NOT! I told them that I would be calling back after DH assesses the situation.
DH comes home and he realizes that every time my computer goes to sleep or shuts down, it uninstalls Windows and REINSTALLS it! Another 2 hours with Toshiba later, they want me to either A. SEND IT BACK TO THEM (which is no option at all) or B. do a FULL system restore on my computer. Well, I had already installed Microsoft Office that I PAID for on my computer and doing a full system restore would make me lose it and I didn't know how that would affect my paid product key if I could use it again without a penalty on my software. See, if you buy a copy of Office, they only allow you x number of downloads with that purchase and mine happened to be 3 and this computer was the last one. More complaining and being on hold, I was forced to do a system restore and I haven't reinstalled Office but I do have my computer back.
Lesson learned: I will NEVER buy another Toshiba product. They had my computer for a month and they didn't fix my computer! What horrible customer service.

Baby Card
I started quilling back when I first injured my back in November 2010. My first venture with this new craft was to make 2d snowflakes and Christmas trees and graduated to 3d penguins and zombies.
Pictures of the zombie will have to wait until I go back to my tattoo artist and take a picture of it.
~*~*~
It's been a month or so since I've quilled anything and I had been itching to get my craft on again. One our friends is having a baby girl so we got them a baby gift but a gift isn't complete without a card!! I took this opportunity to hand make them a card and this is what I came up with: Enjoy!

Dog food
Our dogs are very spoiled, they get 1/2 a can of wet food mixed in with their kibble for dinner every night. Last night was no different, they're on a 2 meal a day feeding schedule and they know when it's time to eat, even though they can't tell time. They start pacing around the house and walk around in circles (like their chasing their tails) a couple minutes before feeding time.
So last night, I got them their kibble and starting mixing their wet food in their bowls. While I was mixing, I stumbled upon a foreign substance: a metal wire about an inch long. I wish I had gotten pictures of it before taking it back to the store where they immediately issued us a refund and a complaint to corporate but I didn't.
I am glad to say that it didn't enter my dogs system but it's scary to know that there are foreign objects that do enter your food and your pets food so watch out! I will let you know what pans out of this (if anything), the corporate office is supposed to contact us later this week.

Electronics
I am having the worst luck with electronics recently... We finally got our old XBOX back from getting it serviced.
Two weeks ago, I was taking pictures of my new quilling project. Quilling is the art of curling paper and making them into things such as a snowflake, penguin, pretty much anything your mind can think up, you can make! I would upload pictures but I don't know how to on DH's computer but I do have some up on my FB mobile uploads if you're interested in looking at them. Anyways, I made a zombie for my tattoo artist since he's pretty much obsessed with zombies and the zombie apocalypse and wanted to take a picture for a keepsake. When I turned on my camera, I saw 3 LINES of dead pixels going horizontally across my WHOLE screen! :( My camera was purchased in August and since it was under warranty, I picked up my phone and called the company. They were very helpful and emailed me a UPS label, all I had to do was stick it in a box and ship it out. The turn around time on it was a week but what gets me is that they sent it out of CA and it has to go to KY, halfway across the country then back across to the west coast...
I purchased a new computer in August as well for the new school year since my old laptop wouldn't hold a charge for longer than 30 minutes and my classes are 2 hours long. I bought it because it was the same brand as my old one and it was very reliable and heavy duty, I could take it anywhere and it never gave me any issues! I now know to NEVER buy something because their older model was good...
3 months after my purchase, my right speaker goes out on it and I call tech services, they troubleshoot it over the phone for me and it's fixed. 1 month after that, my DVD drive goes out and my right speaker wasn't fully fixed. I call tech services again and they tell me that I just need to send the computer in and they'll send me a box and all I have to do is ship it back. Fine. Well, I threw out my back and bulged 3 discs so needless to say, I couldn't even walk, let alone drive so I just thought I could send out my computer once I was mobile again. In that time, my multimedia buttons like the one that turns on/off my speakers, turns up the volume, turns on/off my trackpad, etc stopped working.
Called up tech services again because I now need a new order number not only for the addition to my computer problems but also because I needed to have the computer shipped out within 10 days of receiving said box or else my order number would be canceled... Oops, a month had passed. Instead of being completely helpful this time around, it was trouble after trouble. They couldn't find my old order number and once they did, it was STILL ACTIVE!! They had to cancel that one (but it took them 10 minutes to find it) and while on hold, got HUNG UP ON, called back and had to explain the situation to ANOTHER person, they got my order number but they told me that I had to call the depot department to cancel the old order number. WAIT, what?! You want ME to do YOUR job?!
Spent a couple days calling the number, every time I called, I would listen to terrible 70's music for 25 minutes until I got fed up with listening to it. I googled said department and what did I find out?? Complaint after complaint about how it's a non-active number, no one is actually answering their phones there!!
Call up tech services again, this time very angry about the whole situation and wanted answers and a box sent out to me immediately. I think I got my point across because she was able to send me out a box that same day... The second guy who didn't want to do his job and made me call the depot department told me that he wasn't authorized to send me a box. I wish I would've gotten his name so I could write a complaint letter to the company for how LAZY he is.
I sent out my computer within the 10 days of receiving the box but getting it in there was freaking nightmare but at least they got my address label right this time, yeah, the first box had the WRONG address on it so I would've probably NEVER gotten my computer back! Ugh!
It doesn't stop there... I got a confirmation email stating they got my box and I could check the status of my computer online and it should only take 5-7 business days. I checked online and it said that they were experiencing difficulties getting parts for all of their electronics and it would take "longer than expected"... How much longer I wonder will I have to wait? Days? Weeks?
I am at a loss of what to do. Since I have had so much trouble with getting my computer out and back, I googled complaints and there are MANY... Computers getting lost, not getting fixed, etc etc, the list goes on. I just want my computer back and I wish there was someone I could talk to or send a letter to because this is ridiculous. Anyone have any ideas??

No internet?!
Happy 2011!!
Last Tuesday, our internet went out intermittently but we didn't worry about it because of the bad weather we had been experiencing and Seth had another tattoo appointment so we were already rushing to get out the door and get there on time. When we got home, we did our evening ritual... Play COD:Black Ops. Problem? No internet connectivity. Seth put his computer techy skills to work and voila! It worked... For all of 30 minutes. More techy computer mambo jambo I don't understand and out comes the swearing which I know can't be a good thing so he calls our internet provider and they tell us that it's our modem that's bad and that since it was too late to send a new one out that night, they were going to next day ship it to us the following day. This would usually not be an issue except Seth has staff duty on Wednesday and I'm going to be bored that evening with NO Facebook (unless I access it through my phone), no addictinggames.com, no Solo-Ops but most importantly, NO COD!!
Wednesday late afternoon, early evening: Seth found me a pink controller, since I wanted one so desperately but they are incredibly hard to find since Microsoft only made a limited amount for Christmas 2 years ago. I went to pick it up at the mall parking lot since it's a public place and there are those crazy Craigslist killers out there. I thought to myself, since I'm already at the mall, I might as well drop into Game Stop right?? Right across the hallway from Game Stop is our internet providers kiosk so I stop in and have a "nice" little chat with them about their awful internet connectivity hoping that they could somehow fix my internet for the evening so I can play my game. They gave me an answer but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. They told me that I could have exchanged my modem right then and there instead of going through the hassle of getting one shipped then sending the old one out. Ughhhhh!!
Wednesday night: Intermittent internet, intermittent being it's on for 30 seconds, off for about 30 minutes so I use my computer techy skills (which I have none of) and unplug the modem for 30 seconds, plug it in, connect to XBOX Live, play for 30 seconds, get disconnected, reset the modem, connect to XBOX Live, play for 30 seconds, and so on and so forth for about 2 hours. All while thinking to myself: "I doubt Seth would have this kind of patience to turn off the modem, turn it back on, turn it off, etc". Well, I spoke too soon cause I too, ran out of patience and tried the "caveman technique": bashing it until it works. Who knew?? It worked.
Thursday: Seth comes home and falls asleep while I go to work. I come home that afternoon and he's on COD. The new modem came and it's magically fixed, or so we thought. It worked for all of an hour until it went kaput on us so we decided to call tech support again and let them know what's up. They said that they were going to have to send out a technician to look at our problem and the soonest they can get one out is Sunday. Sunday?! Are you freaking kidding me?! Fine, not like there's much we can do about availability. And until then, we would have to keep unplugging and plugging the modem back in to get it to connect.
Thursday night: "I was right!" I thought to myself... Seth didn't have the patience to keep resetting the modem and ended up taking our new one that was less than 12 hours old and our old one back to the store in the mall. We told them our situation and the guy was really nice and took both back and gave us a brand new one. We got it home and plugged it in, knowing that this time it would work since it was a brand new modem. Plug it in... Wait for it... Nothing. Utter disappointment. Sunday seems like forever away at this point.
Sunday: The technician came and assessed the internet coming to the house and everything was in the clear and he came into the house and found that we were using the new modem that they gave to us, well, it's new, wouldn't you think that they made the old one better? Nope. The firmware on the new modems aren't compatible with the network is one problem. Our technician also told us to do something totally bizzare, reverse the polarization on the outlet, meaning flip the plug around. We turned it around and OMG, WTF, it works!! Seriously!? All we had to do was plug it in backwards?! *facepalm* Anyways, he gave us a new different modem cause he didn't know how long that fix was going to be for. I am still *facepalming* over the whole situation because it's such a dumb fix, who would've thought to turn the plug around?
Come today, I am sitting here, with internet, blogging to you on our 55 inch TV because my computer broke and I had to send it in. Excessive? Probably but at least I have the internet and I have learned... I am addicted to having the internet and I have taken being able to communicate to the rest of the world for granted.
Hope everyone is having a great week.

Heat!!
Last night yet another person came to look at the furnace and confirmed that yes, our furnace is cracked and needs to be replaced and hopefully could get it replaced that evening.
2130:
Got our hopes up again. No furnace because the parts they needed from their warehouse was closed.
Fast forward to this morning. I woke up at 0630, went downstairs, let the dogs out and checked the temperature in the house; a whopping 49 degrees! Now I knew if I exhaled, I could see my breath. Why was the house so cold?? When the sun rose, I found my answer. The grass was white because it had frosted overnight.
The furnace installer came at 0759 and spent the morning installing our NEW FURNACE! We now have heat and the temperature is slowly climbing, I think we're in the 60's now which is like paradise compared to the past 3 days.
In the words of my brother: Welcome to the icanhazwarmz club!
